STEP BY STEP

Step 1

The Loser must purchase a pet fish—ideally something small and low-maintenance (so they have no excuse for failure). Betta fish, goldfish, or even a low-budget guppy will do.

Step 2

The Loser must name it after their worst draft pick – Some name ideas: "Joe Fishrow" (for a busted Joe Burrow season) "Tuna Lawrence" (Trevor Lawrence after a turnover-heavy season)

Step 3

Set up your new fishy friend in style and make sure they have a decked-out, football-themed fish tank

Step 4

The Loser must document their fish-parent journey with regular posts on social media or the league group chat

Step 5

If the fish dies before the next Fantasy season, the Loser must hold a formal funeral service, complete with a eulogy, mourning attire, and a moment of silence. Any foul play or neglect results in a harsher punishment, such as an even worse pet (like a hermit crab or tarantula).

Ways to Spice it Up

The Loser must commission a painted portrait of their fish and display it in their home.
The Loser must attempt to train the fish to do something (e.g., swim through a hoop).
